Inactive License Status (for Regular Licensees ONLY)
Overview:

For regular actively licensed social workers in good standing who have ceased practice of social work in West Virginia for an undetermined period of time. Applying for Inactive status will protect the active license from expiration and loss. An “actively licensed” social worker is one with a license that has not expired or has expired but is still under the sixty-day post-expiration grace period. If the renewal “grace period” has ended, this privilege is not available. The approved inactive applicant may apply to reactivate the license in the future.
