Inactive License Status (for Regular Licensees ONLY)

Overview:

Inactive status applies to licensees have ceased the practice of social work in West Virginia for an undetermined period of time. Applying for Inactive status will protect the active license from expiration and loss. Eligible individuals are those with a regular license (provisional licensees are not eligible to apply) and who are  actively licensed social workers and in good standing with the Board.   An “actively licensed” social worker is one with a license that has not expired and has submitted the application and accrued continuing education prior to the date of expiration. The approved inactive applicant may apply to reactivate the license in the future.
